Technical Director

Essential Duties:
Lead technical team to provide support capability to purchasers of paint and coatings
Bring company to ISO Certification
Coordinate with Sales and Marketing team the formulation of new products and modify existing formulations to meet client demand
Manage laboratory budgets and work with vendors to understand product offerings
Assist Production staff in implementation of FIFO/LIFO manufacturing processes
Manage daily activity of laboratory personnel
Design and complete experiments to assess technologies
Demonstrate key concepts for application development
Additional Duties:
Compare samples of finished goods to quality control specifications
Test samples of raw materials for compliance with required specifications
Review color matches in comparison to established standards
Assign 6-digit product codes to raw materials and 9-digit product codes to finished goods by market series
Prepare and enter data in computer system
Physical Requirements:
Employee is required to lift and carry product on occasion and, therefore, should be able to carry 25 - 50 lbs. frequently.
Other Requirements:
Minimum B.S. in Chemistry Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science or related degree is required. M.S. is preferred. 8+ years experience in the coatings industry along with experience in coatings applications is preferred.
Technical Coatings Sales Representative
California
Reports to: Market Manager
Essential Duties:
Collect reliable customer/territory information.
Estimate customer potential.
Identify current competitors strengths and weaknesses and TTCs competitive advantage.
Understand service facilitys capabilities and weaknesses.
Determine a strategy to sell focus accounts.
Communicate with facility to ensure support and commitments made are within capabilities of the facility.
Estimate time requirements for potential customer development and service.
Identify products that need to be inventoried to support current customers and communicate need to Facility Manager.
Obtain necessary information to open a new account and communicate to credit department.
Conduct regular, planned sales calls.
Conduct joint calls with servicing Facility Manager.
Develop weekly selling plan to best manage time on the territory; Plan your work, work your plan.
Determine where customer is in the overall selling process and what steps are necessary to moveprocess forward.
Access product/technical information to support customers application requirements.
Identify sources of sales leads, support facility leads and follow through as appropriate.
Complete necessary call report and expense reports on a timely basis.
Communicate appropriate sales leads to other Market Reps as required.
Handle customer complaints within lines of authority and manage process to resolution.
Additional Duties:
Assist facility manager in resolution of product supply problems.
Develop relations with sources of product/technical support or information.
Discuss facility requirements in support of anticipated service requirements.
Conduct customer surveys.
Participate in servicing facility physical inventory.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to operate an automobile to visit customer offices, factories, and job sites. The employee will spend 35% - 50% of the time driving, 20% of the time sitting and 30% of the time walking or standing. Employee is required to lift and carry product on occasion and, therefore, should be able to carry 25 - 50 lbs. frequently.
Other Requirements:
High School diploma. Some college experience is desired, especially in business or marketing. Some sales experience in coatings or related field preferred. Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed. If usage of employee's own vehicle is required, employee must obtain appropriate insurance as defined by Corporate Policy. Also, employee must have a valid driver's license.
Production Manager
Stockton, CA
Reports to: Plant Manager
Essential Duties:
Supervises staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.
Manages the production operations of the plant, which includes the implementation and administration of production programs and schedules, safety initiatives, applicable product and quality improvement measures, and related areas.
Be familiar with and implement FIFO and LIFO manufacturing processes
Manages various activities among departments, such as maintenance, materials, and quality control to implement, monitor, and update operations, processes, equipment, and related areas.
Assists with developing and implementing an overall production and manufacturing strategy in the plant, such as plant metrics, resource allocation, maintenance and safety programs, budget development, and capital and process improvement projects; ensures applicable measurements are met.
Develops, analyzes and reviews a variety of production reports to improve costs, employee commitment, safety, production lines, quality, efficiency, cycle times, volumes, and implements management changes as required.
Develops appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with manufacturing or operational principles and practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; monitors compliance with these areas.
Assists with developing and managing capital and process improvement products, receives and provides technical or operational direction, and may inspect and approve projects.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to routinely lift 75 pounds. Forklift certification preferred. Ability to operate motor vehicle to conduct occasional client visits.
Other Requirements:
High School diploma. Bachelors degree preferred, but not required. Minimum of 5 years experience managing production in the paint & coatings industry and the ability to supervise and evaluate employees. Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed.
